Spring Mood
Spring is here! Spring is here! We took a whirlwind trip to sunny Los Angeles this past weekend, and now I’m finding myself drawn to vibrant colors and the outdoors, and am patiently awaiting our trip to Japan that is only days away. I’m not sure if it’s the changing of the seasons or it’s some sort of astrological shift, but I’m feeling so very inspired by the change makers, the rule breakers, and thinking outside of the box, whether it’s design, cuisine, style or my day-to-day routine.
A handful of things bringing me joy (clockwise, top to bottom):
The photography of Philippa Langley, especially the food and travel categories. Her portraits feel especially intimate.
It wasn’t until I moved to Northern California that I really understood the joy and power of the lemon. The varieties! The sweetness of a Meyer! The Gourmand, a biannual publication, has to be one of my favorite food magazines out there. Their newly released Lemon edition “is an in-depth exploration of the literary, linguistic, historic, and gastronomic legacy of lemons, where the line between food and art is happily blurred.” I need it! Available for pre-order.
Swooning over this cheeky wine menu illustration by Office Hours for The Butcher The Baker.
Planning for our garden is already a small joy for me, but how much MORE joyful would it be if all seed packets had cute illustrations like these, by Amyisla Mccombie?
Speaking of the garden, I am absolutely coveting these SeaVees natural and recycled rubber clogs in Tomato. $1 from every pair of Bodega Clogs sold will be donated to The Ecology Center Win/win! $90, via SeaVees
Really admire the simplicity of these labels by Leslie Olson for the Terah Wine Co. x Domestique collaboration, with illustrations inspired by the citrus plants and herbs which naturally grow around the vineyard.
I’m not sure why, but this Chez Noir menu design makes me feel super calm. Love the shapes and colors. via ROY Hospitality
